Bungie Cracks Down on Cheaters
So, Destiny 2 players, you know how we’ve all had to deal with cheaters and security issues in the game? Bungie’s been on it, implementing strict measures to tackle those who try to cheat using tricks or automation.
Recently, they updated their rules to come down hard on AFK macro farming. Essentially, it’s when players use scripts to get rewards without actually playing. Bungie made it crystal clear that this kind of macro use is a no-go, but they did mention they wouldn’t whack players using macros for accessibility tools.
The Surprise Ban of TheAegisRelic
Well, well, well, hold the space phone! Who just got unexpectedly banned? None other than TheAegisRelic, or Aegis to his pals! He does a ton of meticulous damage testing and analysis that helps us all fine-tune our game strategies. But, alas, he got hit with a ban out of the blue.
Aegis confessed on Twitter: “I just got banned in the middle of runs, I genuinely have no idea why.” The tools he used were supposedly above board, like his wish wall macro (which even Dylan Gafner, the Destiny 2 Community Lead, said was cool) and A2TC’s Destiny Damage Tracker. Aegis was adamant that he hadn’t slacked off since the TFS launch.
Community Speculation & Lack of Response
Bungie’s been radio silent on this ban, leaving us all to speculate and scratch our heads. Past unfair bans due to detection errors have folks worried. The gaming gang is rallying for Bungie to spill the beans on why bans happen, but the devs argue it’s a security risk to divulge too much info.
Wait, so, why is Bungie being so hush-hush about bans? That secrecy just stirs the pot, making us wonder if Destiny 2’s ban justice system is as fair and straight-shooting as it should be. Will our ban-hammer fears ever be put to rest?
The Destiny 2 saga never ends, does it? Who knows what Bungie’s next move will be, but one thing’s for sure: the game’s drama keeps us on the edge of our gaming seats!
